Obituary - Obituary list

Search for the obituaries within the list:

Search searching for the obituaries by the keyword
Single date searching for the obituaries by the date of publishing
Date from searching for the obituaries in the specified timeframe
Print searching for the obituaries intended for the printed edition
Web searching for the obituaries intended for the web edition
Non stop searching for the obituaries that are published continuously
Colored Boxes searching for the obituaries by the groups previously defined through Settings / Group

 

 

Meaning of the individual columns within the list of obituaries:
ID identification number of obituary
Category category of the obituaries defined through the menu Settings / Category
Date of publish date of publishing the obituary
Format format of the obituary defined through Settings / Format (number of columns / modules)
Status status of the obituary (entered, proofread, ready for layout)
Obituary first, last name
Print whether the obituary will be published in the printed edition
Web whether the obituary will be published in the web edition
Non stop whether the obituary is published continuously
Groups group of obituaries
Press Status status of the obituary on the InDesign page
Media whether the obituary contains the photo, if it’s ok
Actions actions for the obituaries’ management
Edit Obituary opening the obituary
Delete Obituary deleting the obituary
Export Obituary exporting the obituary and its photos to a compressed file and saving to local computer
Below the list of obituaries there is a counter of pages that will be filled with filtered obituaries (TOTAL Pages)..
Export List to XML actions for exporting the filtered list of obituaries to XML file used for inserting obituaries to InDesign page.
Export All Obituaries to XML exports all of the obituaries for the next publishing date (Single date filter)

 

The new window for entry of obituaries opens by clicking ‘Create new’.

 

FORMAT format of the obituary (size) defined through Settings / Format
Category category of obituaries defined through Settings / Format, and by name of the user who created the obituary
Publish Date publishing date of obituary
Title title of the obituary
Display the field displayed in the list of obituaries
Intro Text opening text of the obituary that will be published on the web
Main Text basic text of the obituary that will be published on the web and also the printed edition
Signature signature under the obituary (the grieving family)
Character counter (max. 1150) maximum number of the text characters

Links

link that redirects/ refers the reader to another web address, Facebook link, Twitter... This option is connected to the web portal where the obituary is published

Link - field to type in web address of the link

Link Type - selecting the type of the link previously defined through Settings / Link Type

Target - whether link opens in the new window or not

Status - for easier search of the obituaries and easier creating the statistics on published obituaries use the statuses. On the left side you see the Print label (obituary marked for the printed edition), WEB (obituary marked for the web edition), NON STOP (obituary  marked for continuous publishing), DISABLED (obituary will not be published until the option is turned off). At the right side there is a group of ads previously defined through Settings / Group

Press Status - displays the status of the obituary on the page (press status, number of the page, title of the project)

Obituary Preview preview of the obituary in the printed edition, while typing the obituary in the Main Text field, it is automatically displayed at the right side
Print printing of the obituary on the local printer
Media

you can join the photo to the obituary in several ways:

Get Active media - join the active photo from the Media module (Media / Active Media)

Get from cart No. - join the photo from the selected cart

Browse - directly join the photo to obituary

Just Add Media - enables adding the frame for the photo although the photo hasn’t been joined yet. You can add the photo later, but still you can type in the title of the photo and signature under the photo

There are two fields along the photo that can be displayed by the photo depending on the design of the obituary.
